Focalor, also known as Forcalor or Furcalor, is a demon whose main powers are over the winds and seas (similar to Orience, Paimon, Amaymon, and Egine in the Book of Office Spirits, though is of less importance) with his job being to slay men. He is described as being a fallen angel, which correlates to the perception of Lucifer being a fallen angel harbored at the time. This belief stemmed from multiple misinterpreted texts including one referring to Venus and one referring to King Tyre; this most likely contributed to Focalor's description as a man with wings, which was the customary depiction of angels at the time. If you go even further back, you can find that the four-winged description of Cherubim in Ezekiel most likely stems from the four-winged depictions of Apkallus in Mesopotamian religion.
