Info

Anton LaVey (born April 11th, 1930 at 3:10am; died October 29th, 1997) was an American occultist, writer, and actor best known for being the founder and former high-priest of The Church of Satan. The Church of Satan's ideology borrows heavily from Nietzsche and the idea that life is inherently meaningless, so people shouldn't be restricted by "objective" morality. Despite the name, the church does not believe in Satan. This belief is what caused Michael Aquino to exit the church and found Temple of Set. The Church also uses its own magic system which focuses on vicariously directing yet unexplained or unknown natural forces.

Foundation of the Church of Satan

LaVey and co-founders founded The Church of Satan on April 30th, 1966, hosting it out of a black victorian house. His ideologies on greater magic, lesser magic, the magic described in the previous section, and criticization of Christianity were outlined in a scripture he called, "The Satanic Bible", which was inspired by Satan as a figure who criticizes and is thus more scientific than evil. From there here hosted multiple events, rituals and ceremonies to purposefully taunt and prompt the media.
