Asmodeus, also known as Asmoday in The Lesser Key of Solomon, is the patron demon of pleasure, sex, incest, and same-sex relationships. When called upon, he will try to deceive you with his cunning and his intelligence in arithmetic, astronomy, and geometry. When he appears to the summoner, one must ask if the demon is Asmodeus, at which point he will bow down to you. During the ritual, you must wear his seal on your breast. A commonly speculated origin for Asmodeus is as a false god named Ashima in 2 Kings 17:30's whose name correlates to the name of one of the main ten daevas who allied with divine evil Angra Mainyu named Aeshma over in Zoroastrian religion, which is included in a short mention in Brittanica's description of the subject. This daeva is also often depicted as wielding a mace, much like Asmodeus is. In the Testament of Solomon, he is described as being deathly afraid of water after being cast into a body of water in a fight with the angel Raphael.

In the The Dictionarre Infernal he is described as riding a dragon, and is cited as the snake who tempted Eve. He also possessed Madeleine Bavent under the name Chammadai and Sodonai.
